Good Bye

I've decided to call it quits. (No, not suicide, just blogicide) So I'd like to say good-bye to my fellow bloggers and offer a brief explanation of why I've come to this decision. It's just simply - concentration. I realized I can't get through one paragraph in a book without my thoughts wandering, and I'm pretty sure it has to do with the quick-fixedness of reading blogs. So I'm off to read long boring books and work on my concentration.

All the best!

Pragmatician Interviewed Me!

1)Besides the fact that you are one, what prompted you to make yourself known to the blogsphere as Yiddishe Mamme?

I chose a dowdy name because I didn't want to attract the wrong people to my blog. Guess it didn't work.

2)Your two best friends, who used to be each other’s best friends too, refuse to talk to each other, do you go for reconciliation or do you think “ha ha eliminated the competition”?

If I'm being honest, I'd try to reconcile them, but deep down, I'd feel "ha ha eliminated the competition".

3)Have you ever secretly (or not so secretly) wished you could flush someone down the toilet? If yes why?

No, I haven't ever wished that I could flush someone down the toilet, but I have wished to kill some people!

4)If you could write a column for a Jewish periodical, which one would you choose? (E.g. Hamodia, Jewish Observer etc...) Elaboration to answer encouraged.

To tell the truth, I don't read any newpapers or any of those Jewish periodicals. The only one I very rarely read is Country Yossi. So I guess it would have to be that.

5) And now the best question of them all: Your opinion of my blog?

It's a breath of fresh air!

Foncused & Ghetto & Karl and NJ Interviewed Me!

Pshew! I'm finally done. I think I'm all interviewed out for now!

Foncused's questions and my answers:

1) Who do you think got the better deal in your marriage, you or your husband (i assume youre married to a man)

Hmm, I had some time to think about that one and I couldn't really come to a conclusion, so I asked my huband and he said I make it seem like he's the one who got the better deal. But truthfully, when I go back and forth on each of our positives and negatives, it more or less evens out.

2) Do you have ny friends that you really hate, you just trying to be nice to them thats why youre still talking with them (myself excluded)

That's a definite 'no'. I'm incapable of putting up with anyone or anything I can't stand, so I either stay far far away, or I make it clear to them how I feel about them. I don't do fakeness.

3)Do you feel if you would've been born in to a non religous family, You would've made something better with your life (i e Doctor, nurse, Porn star)

Well, by nature, I'm not a go-getter, so I wouldn't have been an entrepeneur or anything, but maybe I'd have gone to college and become a psychologist. That's what I always wanted to become. But I'm thankful I didn't. They're all nutjobs.

4)Do you like any one of your kids better than the other one (I am not considered a kid, i am a stalker)

That's an interesting question. One of my kids is exactly like me, and the others are totally not. So I was always afraid that I would like that one the best because I understood him so well. But then I saw that that's not at all the case. I would test myself let's say when I would serve them food, to see if I would want to give the bigger portion to one kid rather than the other, and I saw that I didn't have that feeling at all thank goodness. So no, b'h, I don't like one kid more than the others.

5)Would you marry me?? as tempting as it must be, i will go with a different question.
5)Is your husband the first boy you met, if not how many did you meet before him?? Was it love at first sight, or did you father tell you that the congeration decided he is your husband!

My husband was, I think, the seventh boy I went out with (I went on shidduch dates, not b'shows). It was pretty much love at second site. When I first saw him, I wasn't so crazy about his looks, but by the end of the evening, he won me over, and by the second date I was hearing wedding bells.

Ghettos' questions and my answers:

1. whats your favorite quote that you live by?

"uder yuh, uder nein"

2.describe your perfect date with me!!

What kind of question is that? Don't you already know the answer? We'd go see Joseph on Broadway!

3. name 5 ways that you personally have changes since being on the net for good and bad.

Hmm, ok let's see...
1. I appreciate my husband more.
2. I can survive on less hours of sleep.
3. I'm friendlier to strangers (since the RAKs)
4. I accomplish less.
5. I go to the bathroom less.

4. describe your most embarrssing moment.

Oh man, I wish I could butt I really, really can't.

5. If you were reincarnated as aflower in your next incarnation what flower would it be and why?

I think I'd be a sunflower, because I used to hate the sun (now I don't anymore) so when I'm a sunflower, I'll make up for all the lost years of hiding from the sun.

Karl's questions and my answers:

1. What was the last piece of music you bought? Why?

Hmm, it was a long time ago, but I think it was Shwekey's latest album. Because it's good!

2. If you were the last person on earth, what would be the first thing you'd do?

I'd say 'ahhhh, no one to bother me anymore!' :)

3. If you could meet one person from Tenach, who would it be?

Yishmael - and I'd marry him. That would nip a huge problem in the bud - no?

4. What would you say to Jesus if he was your son?

I'd tell him the same thing I tell my son. If you don't get a haircut your friends will make fun of you that you're a girl!

5. What is the one gaget/ piece of technology you could not live without(excluding computer/pda etc)?

Telephone! I panic when my phone's not working.

Normal Jew can't get enough of me. He wanted to interview me again!

1)What is your best attribute? and your worst?

My best is probably my sense of humor. It comes in handy in many situations. My worst is probably my repulsion to responsibility.

2)What is your favorit MBD song? why?

That would be "Moshiach is Coming Soon". Many people aren't familiar with it. It starts "How many hearts are beating the the rhythm of their sorrows.....". A close second is "Pray & Sing". Everyone knows that one. They're both very beautiful, moving songs.

3)If all the world is crazy, and you are normal, are you really normal?

Actually, I'm always normal. I'm used as a reference point to judge the mental state of the rest of the world.

4)How do you eat an Oreo cookie?

See my answer to Lost's question about how I eat cake.

5)If God forbid your entire blog got erased, would you start over, or move on?

Not really sure, but I think I'd move on and try something new.

I Think I'm Finally Ready To Take The Big Step

Alright people, I think it's about time that I set up the links on my sidebar. I've tried it in the past with no luck, but I see everyone's doing it, so how hard can it really be? So now I am officially reaching out for help. Could someone please explain to me, in English (not Computerish) how to set up links to other blogs?

Update:

Never mind the above. I wrote it last night, saved it as a draft and then this morning I open my email and guess what? An angel from above sent me the clearest instructions on how to do it. It must have been Eliyahu Hanuvi himself! Thanks Eli! (and thanks also to all who would have tried their best to help me.)

New Blog By Yours Truly

Please check out:

http://red-dich-up.blogspot.com/

I started this blog so I can just have a place to vent about all my little annoyances. I did it here sometimes, but not nearly as much as I wanted to because I didn't want everyone saying, oh, that yiddishe mamme, all she ever does is complain. I haven't posted anything yet, but don't worry, it won't take long, just give it a few hours. BTW, I would also LOOOVE it if my fellow bloggers would vent on this blog too. Even teeny tiny things like someone stepping on your pinky toe! I think, depending on how many vents I get, I'll even pick a vent of the day or week or month, or (please not!) year.

My Dream

I dreamt about my grandmother last night
She wasn't an angel, dressed in white
She was so sick - she was ailing
Her health was failing
But I didn't care
As long as she was here
With me
